I woke up starving yesterday, but after two or three bites, I wasn't hungry anymore. Does that ever happen to anyone else?
I put this in the fridge and ate it later when I got hungry again!
This popped up on my Timehop and made me laugh! Some days I really miss teaching middle school. I was a teacher for five years. My first year of teaching, I taught 5th grade, so I taught all subjects. After that first year, I taught 7th grade ELA for two years. After teaching ELA, I was a reading specialist for two years. While I was a reading specialist I worked with 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. During those five years, I was also a full-time graduate student. I started and finished my master's, then I started on my PhD. I resigned last May from being a reading specialist so I could finish my PhD - so that brings us to now!
I loved this little lunch bowl. It was a mixture of roasted broccoli, cauliflower, tri-colored carrots, onion, jalapeño, lentils, and goat cheese.
This was my work set-up yesterday. I didn't feel like working at the table or my desk. It worked out perfectly! Also, maybe I need to always work here because I got SO much accomplished. I started on my to-do list for Wednesday yesterday! Heck yeah.
This is seriously one of my favorite snacks - plain Greek yogurt, rolled oats, frozen blueberries (any frozen fruit tastes amazing), almond butter, and a little honey drizzled on top. It's the perfect little treat!
When you're a hot mess from working all day and don't want to go to yoga...you make yourself get dressed. Then you finally look in the mirror and see this hair...HA! Working from home is so glamorous....
I snacked on a little cereal before yoga. I finally opened the fresh new bag I got. I can't believe I hadn't opened it yet! I love this stuff.
Yoga was AMAZING. It was just what I needed. It felt SO good to stretch and sweat. I need to remember that incredible feeling the next time I'm caught up in work and just want to stay at home to finish some things up. Moving our bodies is so important! Also, a shower after hot yoga feels SO good. I usually don't wash my hair though. Because who has time for that?! ; )
For dinner, we had honey mustard salmon - I got this HUGE filet on sale at Lucky's. It was delicious!
I also made sweet potato mashed potatoes and green beans.
Jake has an ankle that is a little sore from running on all the trails this weekend, so he iced it off and on last night. No thank you! We sat in a freezing cold creek in Colorado this summer and it was MISERABLE. Ice baths are not for me. That's why I like the Cryosauna! I need to go do that this week...
We relaxed after dinner, watching the Ranch (which is growing on me), sipping on some whiskey (me), and beer (Jake). It was the perfect end to our Monday. I still have my hair up from yoga...yesterday was a rough hair day! ; )
I'm going to read through my second chapter today and hopefully get it as perfect as I can before my committee reads it. Right now is kind of a waiting game, which I hate, so I'm just trying to take care of everything within my control. I hope you have a wonderful day, friends!
