I love this shirt! It's another one I got from Ultramax Tees at the Go Girl event in OKC. Sweaxy. HA! I went to the Y yesterday morning to get a little run in before hot barre at Physique. It was raining and I didn't want to be soaked before hot barre, so I ran around the indoor track. 30 loops for 4 miles.
My stomach felt a million times better when I woke up yesterday, but nothing really sounded good to eat. I ended up having some cornbread. It was delicious.
This was after our run in the rain on Tuesday. My hair was SOAKED. I wanted to take a shower after Jake left for work, so I threw on my robe and a towel on my hair. I think I chugged two cups of coffee, trying to get warmed up.
Breakfast! Sautéed veggies and eggs.
After breakfast, I did some stretching and weights for a little bit before my shower. I had to throw on my favorite sweats because I was still cold.
I finally showered, then got started on some work. I didn't get nearly as much as I wanted finished yesterday, but that's okay. I'll get caught up this week. Before I knew it, it was lunch time. I had a huge smoothie and lentils with goat cheese and Sriracha. I was meeting my editor at McAlister's at 1P, but I was starving around 11, so I just got coffee when I met her. I got my fourth chapter back from her and handed off my fifth! I was worried about the fourth chapter because I wrote the whole thing in one weekend, but she said it was actually good! PHEW. Huge sigh of relief. I will hopefully get edits finished on it Friday. There aren't too many!
When I got home from my meeting, I was hungry again. I had a protein ball, carrots, and a rice cake with honey on top. It hit the spot!
I wanted to nap so badly. I think the rainy weather was making me more tired than usual.
So, I got up and did some of my headstand stuff to get my body moving a little. I think this is the best I've done so far!
Then I did some exercises with bands before sitting down to do a little more work. Working out in slippers isn't the best choice...
I sipped on some Healthade Kombucha while I worked. Any Kombucha with ginger is my favorite.
I mentioned awhile ago that I used to RELIGIOUSLY track calories - for YEARS. Well, I became obsessed with it, so I made myself stop. Now, every few months, I will track for one whole day, just to make sure I'm not missing out on anything. But I only track one day! I honestly don't do much with macros or calories on a daily basis anymore, but here's the summary from my day yesterday. Not too shabby! When Jake is training crazy hard, I will count calories in some of our dinners, just to make sure he's getting enough. I love this kind of stuff, but if I focus on it too much for me personally, I become obsessed with it. When I track, I put ALL my meals in for the day in the AM. I just like to know what I'm having and I like to look at the numbers/nutrition. I really do get too crazy with it.
For dinner, we were having turkey burgers topped with these goodies - banana peppers, goat cheese, onion, and avocado.
We also had salad and sweet potato fries. It was delicious! But something did not sit well in my stomach. I have no clue what it was, but last night was miserable.
I also had a little glass of wine from our Bota Box. I couldn't finish it all because my stomach was upset. That NEVER happens.
Lu stared at Jake like this for a long time. She sure loves her Dad!
Since my stomach was so upset, Jake went and got me a Sprite and I got some Aspen cuddles. I started to feel a little better around 11 last night and I'm feeling almost back to normal this morning. Who knows!
SUPER EXCITING NEWS!!!!!

I was supposed to have Health Tracks later today, but I might cancel that and just go to the Y later if I'm feeling better. I also have two phone meetings. In-between that, I will work on some dissertation stuff. We have an event tonight for MORC, which stands for Missouri Off-Road Cyclists. Jake is on the board and their events are always so fun! If you're interested in hearing more about MORC or want to know what's going on with the trails in our area, come join us! HERE'S the link to the event tonight. We'd love to see you!
Breakfast on Monday was sautéed spinach, kale, and mushrooms, plus two eggs, and a piece of toast with jam. I think this is one of my favorite breakfast combos.
Friday morning was busy! We were rushing around trying to finish getting packed, take the girls to our parents, and hit the road for OKC. After we dropped our girls off, I made a quick breakfast. Eggs, veggies, and half a bagel. Also, goat cheese. <3 By now, you know it's my obsession. I can't stop.
After breakfast I did a little work then needed a snack. I was so hungry all day yesterday...my first snack was cereal with my coffee. I love dry cereal. Anyone else??
I haven't been loving the veggies I prepped for breakfast this week. We both kind of struggled to eat them yesterday. I'm going to do something different with them the rest of the week...stay tuned.
I wanted to run when the sun was shining, so I slept in a little yesterday, got up and had a little snack, then got started on some work. I had half a bagel with raspberry jam. It was DELICIOUS.
I woke up starving yesterday, but after two or three bites, I wasn't hungry anymore. Does that ever happen to anyone else?
Rewind to Friday - More overnight oats for breakfast! These were delicious, but I like to have veggies for breakfast. After I ate these, I totally put the empty bowl into our coffee cabinet...no clue why. Major brain fart. I never do stuff like that!
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
