The morning of our wedding, Brandi and I headed out for a little trail run and the guys went fishing! I set my dress out and couldn't help but stare at it any time I was in my room.
First, thank you SO much for all of your kind words. I cannot even express to you how much they mean to us. You guys really are the best! Second, last weekend was everything I've ever hoped for - it was so perfect! I am going to split the whole weekend into two blog posts. Today, I'll talk about Thursday and Friday (pre-wedding), and tomorrow I'll share about Saturday and Sunday (wedding and post-wedding). I hope you enjoy reading about our wedding weekend!
Thursday, before we left, I got my lashes filled and grabbed a smoothie.
Short post today, but we made it to Colorado!! We got to our camp spot about 2AM. We camped in the bed of our truck, so it was super handy. I’ll share some pictures!
Bedore we left town, we went to the courthouse. Some of our best friends met us there. It was perfect.
I loved reading all of your guesses yesterday! We went to GALLOWAY! Here's a little back story: Before Jake and I officially started dating, we were good friends and we hung out almost every day, for about a month or two. Not always the two of us, we had big groups of friends, too, but we were together in some fashion. He finally asked me out, but I said no. Not because I didn't like him, I think I was just nervous. Man am I thankful he didn't give up on me!
So, back to that night - I went to Galloway. In my jammies. We sat at the bar, he had a PBR, I had a Coors Light, and we took a Fireball shot. Then he went home and I went to my apartment. No kiss, nothing, but it was that night that I accepted that I liked him. We recreated this night last night. I can't believe I get to spend the rest of my life with this guy. I'm feeling so blessed. Okay, sorry for getting all sappy on you. But our story just goes to show that anything can happen!
Can you tell one of us got a spray tan yesterday? I look normal now that I showered.
I was so hungry after my 8-miler with the girls. But, I made the mistake of crawling back into bed after I had changed - it was SO hard not to take a nap. I got up, made breakfast, and got started on my crazy day.
Lulu is terrified of thunderstorms. She refuses to leave my side if it's ever storming. I don't hate the cuddles.
Breakfast Friday morning - back to this! We ran out of burrito mix. I was so sad. But this was delicious, too. Again, the huge amount of raw spinach compared to when it has been sautéed is crazy...
I didn't get a post up yesterday (Thursday) - things were just crazy! I'll get to all of the crazy in a bit, but first, let's chat about Wednesday.
Another breakfast burrito Wednesday morning. These are so yummy.
Jake made his breakfast burrito yesterday then topped it with a TON of salsa. Turns out, the salsa was bad. It smelled SO awful. We had to make him a new burrito. I hate when things go bad but the date still says they're good. So misleading!
I finally got back to some sub 9s in my run yesterday. I think my body is finally healed after our Nashville races. I've definitely been feeling a little flat. I've been looking at different training plans for my full - I think I found one that I'm going to tweak and use. I'll start training June 17th! I'm excited.
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
