Basically food + working out…BUT I shared a bunch of do-anywhere workouts for you to try! There are pictures and everything!

I wrote about this awhile ago, but I’ve been having TERRIBLE chafing on my long runs underneath my bra band. It’s miserable. Jake loves and swears by Chamois butter, but there’s something about the lotion-ey feel that I don’t like. I’ve heard awesome things about Body Glide, so I’m going to try it out! I’m excited. I’ve got a short run today, so I’m going to test it out. I’ll keep you in the loop – like you had a choice! ; )

Things with Aspen have been hard. She’s up most of the night, so Jake and I aren’t sleeping all that great. I did not feel like working out yesterday, but I knew I needed it. I wanted to do a little TRX work, but it was SO nice outside. Then I remembered that I can take my straps anywhere with me! So, outside we went. How awesome is this??

Two of my favorite moves are squats and bicep curls. I add in little jumps to the squats, too.

I love that you can modify the intensity of curls by repositioning your feet. The straighter you stand, the easier they are. This is about a medium effort (for me).

Remember my story about throwing out a whole wrap because the crab meat tasted weird? Well, I made a wrap with tuna, which was the original plan, and it was delicious! I topped the tuna meat with my favorite Primal Palate seasoning. I heated up the tortilla and a slice of dairy-free mozzarella before adding the rest of the goodness.

Mmmm. Lunch was SO good. I topped my tortilla with spinach, cherry tomatoes, Walden Farms ranch, and Sriracha. I also had Nut Thins, because no meal is complete without them. ; )

After lunch, I worked on edits again, then ran some errands. I had my car cleaned and detailed on my way back home – I’m a sucker for free popcorn.

I got home and finished up some weight lifting in our garage, then I got hungry again. I had a Whysk protein muffin and some cheddar crackers from Back to Nature. They taste just like Cheez-Its.

Jake and I dropped something off at 4 By 4, so while we were up there, we had some delicious beer. The weather was SO perfect yesterday. If you live near 4 By 4 and like coffee, get their blend called the Stoutbucks. I’ll even let you buy me one as thank you. It’s the BOMB.

We grabbed dinner at Galloway. I sipped on a Moscow Mule while we ate. They’re just so refreshing. It’s the perfect drink in the summer.

I had the tuna steak sandwich for dinner and it was incredible. It had been awhile since I’d ordered it, so I savored every bite.

I, of course, shared my leftovers with our babes when we got home. I’ve been feeding Aspen chicken and sweet potatoes for every meal, so she might just turn into a sweet potato. She isn’t eating a ton of her dog food, so she’s been getting some extra yummy stuff.

Okay, any time I find cool stuff, I want to share it with you! I was perusing Pinterest last night and came across some do-anywhere workouts! I like the graphics because they show you each move. I’ve done a couple of these before, but a few were new to me and I can’t wait to try them! I love writing my own workouts, but sometimes I end up doing the same stuff over and over again because I do the moves I LIKE. You can save the picture if you want to try any of these! If you do one, let me know how it went for you!

I’ve done this ab workout and it’s a good one!

Here’s a good HIIT workout. You can work your whole body with this one.

I haven’t tried this one, yet, but I’m going to do it today! Part of my hammy injury last year was a weak core, which isn’t just abs, but strengthening them is a good place to start!
Picture

I love my stability ball, so I can’t wait to try this workout. I like that this one breaks down each move and the area it targets.

If you’ve followed my blog for very long, you know I’m a fan of HIIT workouts and anything that involves a circuit. This workout looks awesome.

I think negative feelings are part of a dissertation requirement. Eye-roll. Here are some ways to deal with those feelings. I wanted to share this with you, too. Try something new the next time you’re feeling down about something. And remember, you’re freaking awesome. <3

We were up a lot last night with Aspen, so I kind of feel like a zombie today. I’m drinking coffee now and kind of relaxing. I’m hoping to get out and run here in a little bit. I know it’ll make me feel better. I’m making progress on some chapters, so I’m going to get back to that once I get this posted.

I don’t talk about this a lot, but I am so appreciative to Jake for providing for our family. Not only did he encourage me to take a year off from being a classroom teacher to finish my doctoral degree, which I thought I’d do in a year, he now makes me feel like less of a loser for not finishing when I wanted to AND for taking even more time off. Not having a full-time job has been hard on me. He keeps reminding me that right now, school and this dissertation are my full-time job. I’m not quite sure what I did to deserve him, but I’m very, very thankful.

This week has been hard. I feel like we HAVE to hear from the vet today. Thank you to all of you for the prayers and positive vibes about Aspey. Your comments, messages, texts, and calls mean a lot to us!

BUT, turning negative thoughts into positive ones – I should get my food sensitivity results back today or tomorrow. I can’t wait to share everything with you! I’ll do a big write-up on Saturday, August 4th, as long as I get them by Thursday.

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Did you like the Body Glide? Like your hubs, I also use chamois cream as an anti-chafe when I run. My preferred product is Mad Alchemy’s LaFemme. The scent is mild and it works great.
