I couldn't find Lu yesterday morning...I think someone is loving her new bed.
I had an interview to conduct yesterday and the participant wanted to meet face-to-face, so that was fun! All of my other interviews are conducted over the phone. I really enjoyed the face-to-face on yesterday! I rushed out of the house without fixing my hair...whoops!
After the interview, I rushed home to eat lunch. I had Jake's leftovers from Saturday. The reuben from Galloway is amazing. It's a special item, so they don't offer it all of the time. It's probably best that they don't...I'd be there every day.
My phone has been acting up. I can't use the speaker to text anymore and I am having a hard time hearing people when they call. I stopped by Verizon after lunch to see if they could help. This popped up when I parked! Isn't that cool? I also walked in half expecting to be there at least an hour. They had me on my way, with a brand new phone being shipped to me, within 5 minutes. This is why I get insurance on my devices! Heck yeah. I was tempted to get the new phone...but I refrained.
After Verizon, I ran some errands and went to the grocery store. I decided I needed a pill organizer. I HATE opening these every day. Anyone else a pill organizer? Am I weird?
Boom. Organized and easy to get to! I love this. I can't believe I didn't do it sooner...
Then I met my birth mom, Dawn, at Metro for dinner and drinks! Jake came up and met us there when he got off work. I had this seared tuna. It's AMAZING. They serve it on a Himalayan salt block.
Yes, please. It's delicious.
We also all shared some flash fried spinach. Mmmmmm.
It's always so good to spend time with her! We met about 4 years ago and I cherish our relationship. My parents love Dawn, too, which is so special.
Then it was up to run! I ran 5 miles this morning, which is the longest I have ran in over a month. I broke in my new compression socks, too!
My attempt at a family run picture. Whoops! I'm still trying to run slow, so Jake ran a mile with me, then sped up so he could get his own workout in. He has a couple races coming up, so he's preparing for those. One is a 3-day back-to-back run. I can't remember the distances. I'll ask him and get back to you! But it sounds crazy.
So happy to be able to run again! Still not having any pain! Fingers crossed.
Aspen was so excited to see me when I met up again with her and Jake. All the kisses.
Family photo time! Poor Lu. She cries every time we all leave her for a run. She loves to run, but I think anything over 4 is a little much for her. She will get extra cuddles from me today and Jake told her he'd take her on a mile run when he gets home from work. She's excited!
We had a little family photo shoot after our run...Aspen hates pictures.
I have LOTS to get accomplished today, so I made a to-do list and I'm going to knock it all out! Jake's Nanny is coming over for dinner tonight, so I can't wait to see her! We are going to have pizza and salad. I got all the final grades for my classes submitted yesterday, so I'm glad to be finished with that! I have some dissertation stuff to do, but I don't have many interviews this week since college students are on break. I'm going to use this time to get caught up on everything and then work super hard to finish interviews in January. I can see the light!
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
