I was kind of dragging a little bit yesterday mid-morning, but I had already finished off our pot of coffee and I didn't want to make more. I mixed a little bit of these three together and it seemed to help. I hadn't had this Almond Coconut blend before and I really liked it!
I also sipped on this, which was so delicious and it kind of reminds me of komucha. I love apple cider vinegar, so I like that you can sort of taste that in this drink. It usually takes me about 3-4 days to finish one of these.
After my breakfast casserole and waffle, I was still hungry, so I had a banana with PB. Then about an hour later, I got hungry again. I had a lunch meeting with a women who is going to help edit my dissertation, so I didn't want to eat too much and be full, but I knew I wasn't going to make it to lunch without eating something. I remembered we had sausage links and pepperoni leftover from meal prep, so I made a little snack. These sausage links are seriously amazing. I think they're Applegate, but I can't remember for sure. This one is chicken and apple, but they make a variety of flavors.
I met a woman who is going to help me edit my dissertation paper at McAlister's for lunch. It was a wonderful meeting and she is so knowledgable about APA (the format I have to use) and will even check all my references and different things like that. Using her skills will definitely take some stress off of me as I finish up my study and start analyzing data. I hadn't been to McAlister's in a LONG time, so I was excited when she suggested we meet there. I had the Savannah Chopped Salad, which is one of my favorites. It's SO good.

After lunch, I headed to my parents' to try on wedding dresses! Jake and I like to do things our own way, which reflects who we are and what is important to us, so in doing that, I decided I didn't really want a traditional wedding dress. Plus, we are going to be outside for our ceremony in Colorado, and a big, fluffy dress would probably get filthy. I found 6 dresses that I liked and ordered all of them. They came in on Monday afternoon, so we planned a try-on party for yesterday! My Mom, my sister, Jake's Mom, and Jake's sister all met at my parents' to help me choose THE dress. When I got there, my Momma had champagne waiting. She gets me.
I said "YES"! I fell in love with the second dress I tried on. I just knew it was THE dress. There were two others that I really liked, as well, but the second dress was MY dress. I didn't want to take it off! It's perfect and exactly what I was wanting. I'm SO excited and the whole process made me even more excited for our wedding!
Our new 2018 calendar finally came in the mail! These had been on backorder when I ordered it a few weeks ago, so I'm excited to get caught up on the ones we missed. I had heard great things about the book with this same title, so I probably need to check that out, too.
We had leftovers planned for dinner and as I was getting ready to warm everything up, Jake got called into work. He's on call this week, so he has to be ready to go to work at all times. I was hungry, so I went ahead and ate my dinner. Leftover stuffed acorn squash and the rest of my salad from lunch. The stuffed squash was still super good! I am going to have to remember this recipe. We need to make it again. Maybe next week... ; )
I got up to do something and realized that I didn't match. At all. I think I had almost every color on, but no piece of clothing had the same color. Very high fashion, right?
I found a couple of exercises on Runner's World for activating/strengthening glutes, so I spent about 30-minutes doing those last night after dinner. I'm going to ask my PT about them when I see her tomorrow. I'm the worst patient...I'm sure she loves that I'm researching things before seeing her. NOT. I grabbed a little kettlebell to add some resistance on the couple of the moves. I was SO shaky doing some of these moves. It was crazy. I had no idea how weak I was in those problem areas...

I was TERRIBLE at these. Single-leg deadlifts. I didn't have a wide range of motion at all and I shook basically the whole time. I definitely need to be more serious about my strength training.
After working on some of those glute moves, I got out my trusty lacrosse ball. Jake was home at this point, so he ate dinner while I rolled out. We also watched an episode of Bloodline, which was super intense! Things are getting crazy in this show. My hips and feet have SO many knots in them, I never realized how bad they were just using my foam roller. This ball makes you feel EVERYTHING...whether you want to or not. I did manage to get one huge knot taken care of in my right foot and it feels SO much better. I highly recommend rolling out with one of these. They're a life saver!
I don't think Jake will ever get his recliner back from this furball. She loves it.
I started reading my book last night! It was amazing. I have really missed reading for enjoyment. I also have some exciting(ish) news about my degree - I was trying to figure up what hours I have left to meet my minimum to graduate - there's no way I am taking hours over the minimum if I don't have to. I want to be finished ASAP. I got an email saying I hadn't signed up for spring 2018 courses, and since I'm not taking courses, I have to sign up for dissertation hours. I can pick how many credit hours I want/need to take, I just pay more for additional hours. So I counted up all my previous classes and tried to figure out what I needed to sign up for. Well, I was short 3 hours somehow - cue mild panic attack. I began a very thorough investigation of my entire program at Mizzou and I found a class I had taken that my committee and myself had forgotten about! BOOM. So, there are those 3 hours. But now I have another dilemma...technically, if I can finish my dissertation, I can graduate in May. I just don't know if it's doable. But if I don't graduate in May, I have to wait until August or December. If I graduate in August, I will have to walk in May (before I actually graduate, which I will hate) or I wait and walk in December, which I would rather do, if they'll let me. In the grand scheme of things, it's not THAT big of a deal, but I just REALLY want to be finished and graduated. So that's my dilemma for the day! The good news is that I have enough hours, so even if I have to pay for one more semester (ugh), it won't be the end of the world. There's a lot of rambling there...I hope you could follow that, ha!
I'm headed to yoga, then it's home to work, conduct an interview, then go to a nutrition talk with Kayla and Jyssica this evening at Brew Co!
