I got a 3-miler in yesterday, which was my LAST run in MO before we head to TN! I cannot wait to hit the road. I sat in our living room, enjoying breakfast after my run, with the windows open and listened to the rain.
This picture popped up on my Timehop yesterday...it's hard to tell, but my hair was super blonde and obviously very short. I kinda miss having short hair...I was almost platinum blonde for about a year...it's crazy to think about that. My hair now is just my natural color. I stopped doing anything to it, other than getting it trimmed (when that even happens). When it was super blonde, I had to get my roots touched up every 4 weeks. It was just too much maintenance for me. I did love it, though...I'll see if I can track down a picture.
This is when I taught 7th grade. I had to crop out one of my students - we were matching, so we took a picture.
This zucchini bread is AMAZING. I look forward to it every single day.
Lu always wants ALL the pillows.
I've been eating the same thing ALL week, so I'm sorry it's not more entertaining. Maybe next week...
Also, have I mentioned how delicious this lunch is?
Our weather in Nashville is going to be incredible. Perfect running weather Saturday morning!
This is another one of the best snacks. Country Ranch Nut-Thins and lime plantains with Sriracha hummus. This hummus is super spicy, which I love. It's SO good.
So, funny story - Jake got home from work and was changing out of his work clothes so we could go run some errands. I was sitting on the kitchen table answering a couple of emails, when Lu jumped up into one of the kitchen chairs. She kind of hit her head on the table, so I pushed the chair out so she would have more room. As soon as I did that, she JUMPED up on the kitchen table and then onto my lap...I was laughing so hard, I couldn't even get mad at her for jumping onto our kitchen table.
I started to get hungry as we left to run errands, so I snacked on a carrot.
Confession: I didn't stick to my meal plan last night. Life happens! Like I said, Jake got home from work and we headed out to run some errands. The errands ended up taking a lot longer than I thought. I didn't have anything for dinner prepped, so it was going to take about 40 minutes to get everything ready to eat. I was SO hungry and just didn't have the patience to go home and wait. Totally making every excuse in the book, huh? Well, I told Jake I was craving the BLT from Galloway, so that's exactly what we got! It was AMAZING. I ate the entire thing and LOVED it. It actually ended up working out since I didn't have our dinner for Thursday planned - we want to eat before we hit the road- so we will have Wednesday's dinner tonight!
I woke up super exhausted today. I went to an 80-minute yoga class (that I almost ended up skipping). I have no clue why I'm so worn out! I had to take the class super easy. Hopefully I get some energy back later today...I'm already on my fourth cup of coffee...
I'm finishing up some last minute work, packing, and getting my WEDDING DRESS today! I also have a phone meeting right before we leave, so I want to be completely ready before that.
I can't wait for Nashville!! Follow me on Insta to track our adventures! (chelseakdorman) I think you can also follow my race - let me know if you need my bib number! I'll post updates on IG on Jyss and Kayla, too! Send them some positive vibes, please! This will be Jyss' first full and Kayla's first half. I am SO pumped I get to experience this race with these two (and our fellas).
As for me, I am going into the race with zero expectations. I'm just going to run! If I feel good, I'll push toward the end; if I don't feel good, I'll just keep running. I'm so happy I am going to be able to run. Remember when I thought I was going to have to drop out of the race completely? I had already dropped from the full to the half, then my hamstring flared up again. As of now, I am good to go! Thank you, thank you, for your words of support and encouragement - you guys are seriously the best! <3
Happy Friday Eve!
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
