Friday morning, Lu and I went over to my parents to workout. Well, I worked out. Lu was given the bacon grease...spoiled much?
I took yesterday off from blogging - while it was nice to be unplugged from my phone, I sure missed you guys! So, let’s get caught up. My fiend, Jyssica, is fostering the sweetest puppy. I went over to play with her on Wednesday and she is the most laidback puppy I’ve ever seen. She’s a 5 month old Golden Retriever and she is SO precious.
How excited do you guys think Jake was about his new beer the other night? Check out this face.
We are having smoothies for breakfast this week. These have spinach, flaxseed milk, protein, beets, collagen, MCT Oil, plain Greek yogurt, frozen banana, and ice in them. Mmmm.
This picture is from Saturday, but it just makes me so happy! Here are the Springfield Trail Sisters! We had our first run together Saturday morning. I didn’t get to run, but I still had a blast getting to know these women. I can’t wait to see what this group does! If you’re in the area, are a female, and want to have a group to run with, come join us! We would love to have you!!
I literally sat all day yesterday. My ankle hurts pretty bad, so I tried to stay off of it and keep it elevated. I’m pretty bummed about this sprain. I felt so good coming off of my marathon and gearing up for this 20 mile trail race. Now I’m just hoping I’ll still be able to run that race. I’ve got some time, it’s in December, so I’m keeping all my fingers and toes crossed.
Breakfast burritos for breakfast.
DISCOUNT TIME! I have a 15% code for any of the Go Girl races! You can use it for the 5k or the half. If you want to sign-up, use CHELSEA15 to get a discount. Let me know if you have questions or have any issues! These races are a blast!
Also, another exciting running thing! If you’re a female trail lover, we have a new running group!! It’s called Trail Sisters Springfield and we have our first run THIS Saturday! We have a Facebook group (private - where I'll post locations and meeting times) and a public Instagram (@trailsisters.spfld) - please feel free to follow and stay up to date on our get togethers! Let me know if you have questions!! Come join us!
Lu was SO cuddly yesterday morning. I had stuff I needed to do, but it sure seemed like more fun to lounge around and cuddle her.
I have some SUPER SUPER SUPER exciting news! I shared awhile ago that I am part of Team Trail Sisters (a women's trail running community) - read more about Trail Sisters HERE. Well, Gina, the awesome founder, is starting local women only, no-drop, trail running groups! How sweet is that?? If you're a female in the area (Springfield, MO) and would like to be added to the group, let me know! We also have an Instagram account - @trailsisters.spfld (link HERE) if you'd like to follow along!
A lot of our friends ran Dogwood last weekend and it was COLD. This popped up and reminded me of how chilly this water was last year and it was even colder Saturday and Sunday. I can’t even imagine how cold it was this year! If you ran Dogwood last weekend, you’re amazing!!!
It’s crazy to think this time last week I was waking up after my marathon and hobbling around! I have recovered REALLY well, which makes me feel good about my training. I still took the whole week off from running (I’m running today for the first time and can’t wait!) but I started lifting again on Tuesday of last week and I am SORE! I was going to try to run Sunday, but TMI - I started my period and was miserable, so I took Sunday off.
Rewinding to Friday - breakfast was a burrito again. These were so good last week that I made them again for this week. No shame!
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
