I loved reading all of your guesses yesterday! We went to GALLOWAY! Here's a little back story: Before Jake and I officially started dating, we were good friends and we hung out almost every day, for about a month or two. Not always the two of us, we had big groups of friends, too, but we were together in some fashion. He finally asked me out, but I said no. Not because I didn't like him, I think I was just nervous. Man am I thankful he didn't give up on me! <3 Anyway, back to Galloway. One night, probably a few weeks after he had asked me out and I had said no, he texted me saying he was going to Galloway for dinner and asked if I wanted to meet him down there. Well, I was already in my jammies and in bed (it was 8PM, ha!). I was training for my sprint tri and needed to swim early in the morning. I told him no and that I was going to bed. I immediately texted one of my best friends, Katie, and told her that he asked me to meet him and that I was BUMMED I said no. Her response was, "Duh. Because you like him. Go!" Back story on Katie - I think she knew all along that I liked Jake, even when I didn't know I did. They would always have secret meetings whenever they were together and they would talk about me. So thank you, Katie, for knowing me better than I knew myself!
So, back to that night - I went to Galloway. In my jammies. We sat at the bar, he had a PBR, I had a Coors Light, and we took a Fireball shot. Then he went home and I went to my apartment. No kiss, nothing, but it was that night that I accepted that I liked him. We recreated this night last night. I can't believe I get to spend the rest of my life with this guy. I'm feeling so blessed. Okay, sorry for getting all sappy on you. But our story just goes to show that anything can happen!
Can you tell one of us got a spray tan yesterday? I look normal now that I showered.
Someone is back to pouting when Mom has to work on the computer...only a few more months! As of now, I am slated to graduate in December. Fingers crossed!! I'll defend in August or September. I can do a whole post about the dissertation process, but it's not really all that exciting. Graduation WILL be exciting!
I can't stop with these - not only do they cleanse your skin, but they provide ALL the laughs.
I don't think Lu minded the mask.
I did a little pampering yesterday. I got my nails done and I got a spray tan. I usually just do my own spray tans, but sometimes it's nice to have someone else do them. I went to Acacia and they have a couple of girls who do the spray for you. They do an amazing job. I've gone to them for spray tans 3 or 4 times.
I needed a snack before my spray tan, so I grabbed the last piece of buffalo tri-tip.
I had my spray tan done, then I came home and made a smoothie. I added a little much liquid, and I wanted to work on stuff while I ate, so I drank my smoothie yesterday. PB in a smoothie is amazing. Actually, PB in/on anything is amazing.
I also had some crackers with hummus and Sriracha with my smoothie. All of it was delicious. I'm serious about this hummus, friends. It's AMAZING.
The best way to eat it. ; )
We are hoping the weather stays like this for us while we are in Colorado! We are getting married on Saturday - it'll be beautiful outside.
Major snack attack in the afternoon.
I love these. I got them at Lucky's.
Re-creating our night! Minute the Fireball - we don’t really like Fireball anymore. It’s a bummer.
Thank you for the dessert, Galloway! <3
We are off to Colorado! I’ll try to get a post up Friday, but no promises. <3
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
