Hot yoga was TOUGH last night! It was one of the best yoga workouts I've done. I know I don't stretch like I need to after every run, so if I can find the time to go to yoga twice a week, I think I would definitely cut down on injuries. When I got home, I could tell I had worked hard because my eyes were a little bloodshot - I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture. I'm already a little sore this morning!
We had a pretty relaxing evening last night, which was nice! Jake spent some time in the shop woking on his bike - he has a 100 mile ride this weekend in Oklahoma, and I organized my desk area. He is building me a desk, but I needed a placeholder to work on until he has enough time to do that. Then we had Paleo Buffalo Chicken Casserole and spinach salad for dinner - I will post the recipe later today! It's seriously AMAZING.
Today I am thankful for coffee...and our His & Hers Yetis. Jake HATES matching, so any time I can get us even close, I milk it for all it's worth! :)
I'm in a literacy training all day for school, so I got to go out to lunch with my friend Jennifer, who is a literacy coach in my district. We went to McAlister's - YUM! I grabbed a bottle of Sriracha as we walked to our table (of course) and Jennifer made a comment about how she sees me put Sriracha on EVERYTHING, but she's never tried it. You know exactly what I made her do! She liked it! I got a BLT on nine-grain and the Savannah Chopped Salad. Both were delish!
Jake and I love races - it's one of our favorite things to do together. Sometimes, when Jake isn't racing, he will lead races on his mountain bike, which I think is super incredible. Below is a picture of us heading to a trail run that he led and I ran. It was such a fun morning! I think he was trying to be REALLY fierce and intimidating.
We also had a major racing bummer - we slept through alarms and missed the Turkey Trot, which we have both participated in for MANY, MANY years. We were pretty sad about it, but I can guarantee you it won't happen again!
Jake and I are going to Cesar's for tacos tonight!!! It's probably our favorite Mexican food in town. I cannot wait!
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
