Aspen was up a lot Sunday night. I heard her every time she got up to walk around, so I was up a lot, too. I stayed in bed Monday morning a little longer than usual to try and catch up on some sleep. Since I got up a little later than usual, I woke up pretty hungry. A piece of Dave's Killer bread with butter and honey was just what I needed! I usually run on an empty stomach, but I needed to eat something yesterday.
I had a workout run yesterday. 3 mile warm-up, 6x (300m uphill at 10k pace, 300m downhill at half marathon pace, 60 second walking recovery), 2 mile cool-down. I ended with 7.5 miles at a 9:02 for the day. I didn't braid my hair yesterday. It kept getting bigger and bigger from the humidity...
I made a huge delicious smoothie for breakfast when I finished my run.
Then I sipped on my smoothie and stretched for one episode of The Office (that's how I judged time). It worked out perfectly.
I got lots of Aspey cuddles yesterday. Still nothing from the vet. Ugh. I know it takes time to get results from a lab, but you'd think serious things would come back fairly quickly.
I was super excited about lunch. I got some canned tuna to put on wraps for the week, but then I remembered I had some leftover crab meat that needed to be eaten up, so I put that on a wrap, topped it with spinach and tomatoes, and went to chow down. It tasted AWFUL. I spit out my bite and dumped the whole thing in the trash...I don't know what the deal was, but I couldn't eat it. The crab meat just tasted off.
Thank goodness I had my leftovers from Thai Peppers! I heated those up and they were delicious. Sweet and sour tofu. Mm.
I also had some Nut Thins. These are the crackers that I'm always talking about. I eat them every single day. They're SO good.
Lu spent most of the day in her spot under our bed.
I was working out at our kitchen counter and both girls wanted to be close to me. Here's how I spent the afternoon.

I made some protein muffins using Whysk. I used their chocolate flavor, but threw the bag away before I could take a picture. This is a bag of their original flavor. I make pancakes with this mix, too!
The muffins are a little dry, so I heat mine up and add a little honey. That makes them perfect!
For dinner we had Mahi Mahi, couscous, and zucchini and squash. I've been trying to grocery shop food that is on sale. Everything here was on sale! I cooked the zucchini and squash in the AirFryer. It was delicious.
Jake brought this wine home for me awhile ago, but we hadn't had it yet. It was delicious! It's called Abstract and I love the label.
It was SO nice to relax and sip on some good wine.
We got in some more family cuddles on the floor.
I wish this sweet girl felt better.
I'll be on the computer all day. I have edits to do, but I also need to work on an article I'm co-authoring and get my online courses ready to go. I've been working on my online classes a little every day. I like to have them 100% ready to go before the semester starts. If everything is already up, like discussion boards, assignments, all due dates, etc., then I can spend more time interacting with students and giving feedback. It's time consuming to put everything together before the semester starts, but it's SO worth it. I'm not scrambling to get things ready the night before I release something to students.
P.S. How is it almost August?! Sheesh.
