Since I mysteriously turned off my alarm Wednesday morning, I decided to get started on some work and put my run off until the afternoon. Let's just say that was a terrible idea. One day I'll learn...no more sleeping in for me. EVER. ; ) I sipped on my smoothie in bed while I did a little work.
This smoothie was DELICIOUS. I think I could've drank 3 of them. PB, chocolate, strawberry, spinach, collagen, Flaxseed protein milk, honey, and ice. Mmm.
Will I ever grow out of getting bloody noses? I'm beginning to think I won't...I was just sitting in bed working on my computer and it started. I've had them since I was a little girl. I used to get one about every other day. Luckily, they're much more spread out now.
This poor baby still isn't feeling very well. She isn't wanting to jump up on anything, so I made her a little bed next to where I was working. I'm worried about her. She will be at the vet all day today )Thursday) to have some spots taken out to be sent off and biopsied. I sure hope we get some answers. I hate seeing her like this.
I officially ate ALL of the beet hummus. Now I need to make more...
I had another productive day! I'm working on my third chapter right now. I have five chapters total. I think I have about one more round of edits for each chapter, except chapters 1 and 2. Those I am just about finished with!
So, I really struggle with passive and active voice. I've been trying to write in active voice for my dissertation, but I really have to think about it. I was Googling voice and this quiz popped up. I took it to see if I could pinpoint my issues. I did well on the quiz, but it was pretty easy. I need to work on this more.
Lunch was tilapia, veggies, and bread with hummus. I couldn't finish everything, so I saved my veggies for a snack later on.
I didn't put Sriracha or anything spicy on my lunch, so I was hoping my stomach would be okay during my run. I have a really hard time running with anything in my stomach because I get the worst acid reflux. I drank some BCAAs for energy and hit the pavement.
Woof. My run was ROUGH. I wanted between 3 and 5 miles, and it was an easy run, so that was nice. But I made it about a mile before my acid reflux kicked in. I had to stop and walk. It got a little better, so I was able to run a little bit until it got bad again, then I would walk. I did this for almost 4 miles. It was not an enjoyable run, but at least I got something in. I listened to Jack's Mannequin radio, so that was a plus. So many great songs!
This headband tan line came from my run/walk yesterday...it was crazy cloudy out, too!
My stomach was SO upset after my run. I needed to run to the grocery store, so I grabbed some ginger kombucha to drink. This always helps settle my stomach.
I got home and was hungry, so I had the rest of my veggies from lunch.
I also had some pretzels. Because balance. Also, I NEED these pretzels out of my house. Lu really wanted one.
Guys, check it out! We got a new garage gym! I am so pumped (no pun intended) about this. I haven't organized the weights or anything, but I wanted to show you our new stuff. I can't wait to use it all!
Lu loved exploring the trailer.
Jake took me to Galloway for dinner. One of my favorite drinks is Tito's vodka and water. I started adding an orange slice to it awhile ago. Holy yum. It's so refreshing!
Galloway has a new summer salad and it is delicious. Jake and I shared it and a BLT. I haven't been eating meat, but a BLT sounded really good, so I splurged!
The best BLT. Ever.
Of course we had to play around on our new gym when we got home.
Then it was time for Gilmore Girls and family cuddles in bed.
Jake was out not even 10 minutes into the episode. He can fall asleep any time, any place. The girls and I finished watching.
Aspen really loves her Dad. I just dropped her off at the vet - praying for answers for our sweet girl! She will be at the vet all day long.
Hahaha, this made me laugh really hard. I always panic when I try to think of words to use. Anyone else?
Cassie already celebrated her one year anniversary for her flower truck, but this popped up today and I just wanted to say how proud of her I am! She owns Ozark Mtn Flower Truck and she's the coolest boss babe ever.
I've got computer work to knock out today, then I'm going to OrangeTheory Fitness for the first time with my friend, Katie! We have both been wanting to try it, so I'm looking forward to our workout.
We get Aspen back around 4/4:30, so depending on how she is doing, we have plans to have dinner at Jordan and Trevor's house. Fingers crossed she's feeling okay! Lu is pretty sad without her at home.
Happy Friday Eve, friends!
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
