Breakfast Friday morning - back to this! We ran out of burrito mix. I was so sad. But this was delicious, too. Again, the huge amount of raw spinach compared to when it has been sautéed is crazy...
This popped up on my Timehop Friday morning. I love seeing these faces. My very first class (5th grade) will always have a special place in my heart.
We ran out of PB, so I had to use almond butter on my rice cake - I definitely like PB better. I'm not complaining, I know it's just a rice cake, but PB is 100% better.
Lunch was all of the leftovers.
Lu always sleeps on any clothing article that is lying around.
I love when my To-Do list looks like this. Especially on a Friday! I even got started on a couple of things for next week.
I love Amazon, but this kind of stuff is so weird. This tiny package came in this big box. Why?
Lu likes to sleep under our coffee table. I caught her right as she was waking up and stretch-walking (I think I made this word up) out from underneath.
Kayla texted me when she got off work and asked if I wanted to grab a drink with her at Galloway - of course I said YES. Then Jake came and met us down there for dinner.
Up early Saturday to get a long run in before it got crazy hot. I had a piece of toast with PB and honey before I met the girls.
I don't usually take my pack on 10 mile runs, but I'm not used to the heat yet and I like being able to hold my phone in the pocket of my pack. I was excited to have Nuun with me the whole time - this pack is so lightweight, too, so I don't really even notice it.
Kayla asked me to hold her key on our run...even knowing that I had just had mine fall out of my pocket. She trusts me too much!
Of course we took a little break to pet this beautiful horse along our route.
Horse selfie mid-run.
That run was tough. We were glad to be finished!
Jake and I went to Brew Co after my run. I was STARVING. We shared some of the complimentary biscuits and gravy that we get for being club members and split the breakfast burrito.
We ran a bunch of errands on Saturday. I got super hungry while we were out, so we grabbed a sushi roll and kombucha from the Mama Jean's deli. They were both delicious.
We got the girls some new toys...
They love them. Also, the toys squeak. A lot. Not our best purchase.
Sometimes you just really need ice cream in the middle of the day.
I got some cuddles with Aspen (and her new toy) before Jake and I headed to the river to fish a little bit.
This time next week, this guy will be my husband. <3
We didn't catch any fish, but it felt so good to sit in the sun for a little bit.
We went home to start the grill for dinner and Jake got called back into work. He worked SO much this weekend. I felt so bad for him, but he NEVER complained. Ever. He was running on hardly any sleep and still managed to have a smile on his face. I am not a pleasant person if I'm tired...he's definitely better than me! It was storming like crazy, so I cooked the brats in the oven. We got three different ones to try. I love the salad bar at Lucky's - we got three sides to go with our brats.
Isn't this picture CREEPY??? Hahaha! I tried a new mask Saturday night and LOVED it. I definitely looked like a weirdo, but my skin felt amazing after using this.
Lu made herself comfortable on Aspen's bed.
I have no clue what my deal was, and I feel awful saying this after poor Jake worked so much, but I slept 11 hours Saturday night. I never do that! I wish I could give some of that good sleep to Jake. I finally got out of bed, had breakfast, then went to the grocery store.
Lu ate breakfast with me.
This girl and her pillows.
I've been wanting to try this bread forever! I'm so pumped I found it at Lucky's.
I came home from the store and started on meal prep for the week. Prep took no time at all since we are leaving Thursday morning. I ate up some more leftovers for lunch.
I made more breakfast burrito stuff for this week.
Jake got home in the afternoon and was so worn out from working ALL weekend (he got called back out a second time in the morning), and I wasn't feeling like cooking, so we grabbed food from Taco Co. I got the Hawaiian Tuna on an avocado half. It was super good, as always. We ate dinner, then Jake got into bed to take a nap. He thought he might get called into work again last night (which he did), so he was trying to get caught up on sleep. I think he worked 50+ hours of overtime this week. He worked through the night last night. He got home about 7 am, right as I was finishing my run. I don't know how he does it. He's my hero.
I am going to take this week off from work (for the most part). I might try to get a little bit of work done, but my advisor told me to take 10 days off. I think she knows I won't do it unless someone tells me to. We leave Thursday morning for Colorado, and won't take my computer, so I'll for sure have Thursday through Monday off! I have a meeting today and a ton of errands to run. We are having dinner with Jake's family tonight, so that will be super fun.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
