I woke up not feeling super great Thursday morning. No food sounded good, but I was hungry. Don't you hate that? I finally made a bowl of oatmeal, hoping it would make me feel better. I think it helped a little!
I saw this on Instagram and it made me laugh.
I headed out for a run late morning - I had planned on doing 6 miles total, with a 2 mile WU and 1 mile CD. Well, that did not happen. I felt awful during the WU and when I tried to push the pace in mile 1 of the tempo, I just knew it wasn't going to happen. So, I ran an easy almost 4 miles, then walked.
I HATE snakes. I saw one on my run yesterday...can you find it in this picture? It was pretty dang big!
Not happy about walking, but I knew I needed to listen to my body. At least it was beautiful out! It was hot yesterday, so I'm sure that added to me not having any energy.
I met my Mom for lunch after my failed run. She had been playing tennis - isn't she cute? It was so nice to sit in the sunshine!
Nothing sounded good, food-wise, so I got a smoothie. It was pretty delicious.
I came home after lunch and did some work on the computer then dusted our house. I still wasn't feeling great, so I had a snack (an orange and plantain chips), then laid down to take a nap.
My nap buddies.
Being sick is the WORST.
Jake got home from work and we headed to Highland Springs for Project Runway. It's a good thing he calls me when he leaves work every day...I was still asleep from my nap!
When you really NEED attention and your man is on the phone...take a bunch of pictures to drive him crazy. I'll only share one...you're welcome. ; )
We had a blast last night (my Momma helped plan the event). Check out this menu! Everything was so yummy.
Here's the salad and the main course. Mmm.
I loved these tiny desserts because we got to try more than one thing!
My Grandma sat with us, too!
The models walked down that catwalk. Everyone did such a great job! It was fun to see a bunch of new outfits.
We had a blast watching the models and getting to sample different things from various vendors.
Cass moves too fast! We came out after the event was over, so she was putting her flowers away, but she still put together a beautiful bouquet for me! Cassie has Stella (the truck) set up at different locations around town, but she also does deliveries! Her website is HERE! Check it out!
Cassie made my Mom a bouquet, too. They're beautiful and my living room already looks SO much better with some fresh flowers in it.
Isn't the truck adorable?!
I can't believe our wedding is so soon...one month and 13ish days...
I'm off to spend the day with my editor! We are going to read through my chapters and check any final grammar and word choice issues! Dissertations are weird because they have their own guidelines you have to follow. It has been so helpful having another set of eyes! After that meeting, I'm headed to registration for Go Girl! The race is tomorrow, so I'll be helping out tonight and in the morning. If you're running it, come find me!
Happy weekend, friends!
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
