All the snacking + good news/not-so-good news + a fun evening!

Breakfast yesterday after my run was more steel oats, topped with half a banana, walnuts, dried cranberries, peanut butter, and honey. That’s seriously the perfect combination. I also had two eggs on the side, just because I love eggs.

After breakfast, Lu napped on her recliner and I got some snuggles with Aspen. Aspen literally slept in this spot on our bed ALL day. She only got up to go outside and get water.

I did some computer work – finished up a couple things on an article I’m co-authoring and then started to get everything organized to start data analysis! I snaked on this jalapeño beef and pork stick – it was really good. I hadn’t had this kind before.

I also snacked on some cereal – I was starving yesterday morning for some reason.

After my snacks, I decided I needed some chocolate milk in my coffee. I was going to go get a coffee from somewhere after I got my lashes filled (I get eyelash extensions and it’s my favorite thing), but then I remembered we still had coffee at home AND we had this delicious chocolate milk. SO good in coffee. Also, my new Yankee Candles were delivered! I am obsessed with candles – anyone else love having candles? Any favorite scents?

New lashes made me feel like this filter was perfect…

Here are the scents I got this time! I hit a BOGO free special, so I stocked up! Beachwood, Black Sand Beach, and Coconut and Vanilla Bean.

Then it was lunch time! I finished off this bag of Pretzel Crisps so I could get rid of them. I’ve been sending them to work with Jake, but the bag was HUGE.

I fully intended on having chicken and roasted veggies, but then I found some leftover gnocchi from last week – I didn’t want it to go to waste, so I had that for lunch. SO yummy.

Then it was time to print off ALL my data and start analyzing! Here is ALL the information from my 3 interviews with each of my participants. I cut each interview in half, just to hopefully speed analysis along. Each of these 6 (2 per interview) packets of paper contain 10-14 pages…lots and lots of great information there – I am SO grateful to my participants. They were so wonderful. I’m not really sure what all I can share with you guys, hence the blurring. ; ) So now I analyze! And analyze and analyze…

Told you she didn’t move from here!!

After I analyzed some data, I had a phone meeting with the head of my dissertation committee. I was kind of nervous for this meeting…I had done A LOT of work without speaking to her about it – like finishing every single interview. I was worried she was going to tell me I had messed up somewhere (which is 100% possible), and that I was going to have to start over. Well, that didn’t happen and she actually said I was doing a great job, so that helped a little with my stress levels! There’s the good news. The not-so-good news is that I won’t be able to graduate in May. It’s just not possible given the timeline that things need to be turned into my committee and the university. I’m actually more okay with that news than I thought I’d be! I knew that if it was possible to pull off a May graduation, I’d be almost killing myself with work to make it happen, and that’s not what I want to do. I want to be able to enjoy the next few months – enjoy a trip I have planned with some girlfriends, enjoy my bachelorette party, enjoy planning our wedding, all that kind of stuff! I’m not sure if I’ll graduate this summer or wait until December – if I graduate this summer, I’ll technically have to walk at the ceremony in the spring, so BEFORE I am legitimately finished. I don’t love that idea. I want my graduation to be a celebration of my last 10 years of school. They haven’t been easy and I’ve worked really, really hard! I know I won’t be excited to walk and celebrate if I’m not 100% finished. So, that’s still up in the air. In the grand scheme of things, a few months doesn’t matter – I WILL finish, so that’s all I care about. Thanks for listening to me ramble. If you have any words of wisdom, I’d LOVE to hear them!!

This sweater is one of the warmest things I own – I broke it out for dinner last night because it was crazy cold outside.

We went to a new place for dinner and Jake and I both had burgers. They were pretty good! Here’s Jake’s – his was topped with cheese and green chiles. It was yummy!

Mine had bacon (YES) and cheese on it. I ate the entire thing. It was delicious. I can tell my training is picking back up – I’m eating everything.

After dinner, we went to go say hi to the beautiful Tammy – I failed to get a picture of the birthday girl! I hope your night was wonderful, Tammy! <3

The boys always do this to us in the first picture we take. ALWAYS. This is my birth mom, Dawn, and her awesome man, Mitch.

Much better, fellas! <3

I’m hoping to knock out a bunch of data analysis today – wish me luck! I’ll take a break to go to the Y and do the elliptical in a little bit, then Jake and I have HealthTracks tonight. I finished my first official round of workouts with HealthTracks, so I’m excited to see what they have planned for me next!
Happy Wednesday!
