A lot of people commented about my lack of motivation this week and said they were experiencing the same thing. This is one thing I love about blogging - the relationships I make! You guys are pretty awesome.
I came across this wonderful article providing tips for dealing with that lack of motivation. Here are the tips - keep a training log, listen to music, be flexible (know that life happens and if something comes up and you have to miss your run, you WILL be okay), manage the moment (speak kindly to yourself, remind yourself how you’ll feel when you finish the run), call a friend, eat a snack for energy, use a variety of speeds in your workout, take a new route, focus on form and breathing, and lastly, if you’re super drained, just do some easy miles - something is better than nothing! You can read the whole article HERE. I do a lot of these things, but I need to do more of them. Sometimes I get in a funk with running because I don't want to run the same route. I love to run somewhere new and take in all the scenery. I need to do a better job of venturing out and exploring different areas of town.
I couldn’t get a clear picture, but my thumb has some blisters on it from when I burned it with the salmon and brown sugar Wednesday night. It doesn’t hurt anymore, though, so that’s a plus!
I finally have a code to share with you!! If you use Nuun or are interested in learning more about Nuun products, here’s a way to get 25% off! I drink their electrolyte tablets about once a day. I love sipping on them when I go to hot yoga. They also have immunity tablets, vitamin tablets, and different ways to get natural energy. Lots of good stuff!! Use hydratefriends25 to save 25% HERE!
Well, we have already changed her name, HA! We were calling her Epic, which she is, but the name Rhea (pronounces Ray-a) just seemed to fit her better. So, that’s her name! Rhea is an Australian Shepherd and she is SO sweet and a little ornery.
I don’t know what I would’ve done without ALL the layers and buffs in Colorado. I stayed so cozy, but I think I wore at least 4 layers every time I stepped outside. Having the right gear is essential!
Writing this post from my phone again, so the pictures are going to be huge. Sorry! I wish I could shrink them like I can on my computer.
We had such a wonderful time in Colorado this past weekend. It was definitely a quick trip. We left Thursday after work and are headed home now, but we had a BLAST. I’ll talk about Friday today and cover the rest of the weekend tomorrow!
We drove about halfway Thursday, so we stayed in Hays, KS that night. We woke up to some snow there, which made us even more excited for some Colorado snow and mountains. The first thing I do in a car trip is take my shoes off...anyone else?
I can’t edit the size of pictures like I normally do on my computer, so I’m sorry they’re so big today! I’m blogging from my phone since we are out of town. : )
This was the best text to wake up to on Thursday morning. I sure do miss my girl! Thanks, Momma!
I usually try to prep our breakfast ahead of time, but this week, we have been cooking them each morning. It has been kind of nice! I almost forgot the other morning, though. I get so used to my routine of heating things up, which hardly takes any time at all. Luckily, eggs don’t take very long to cook.
Do you have an article of clothing or a pair of shoes that your significant other hates? Mine would be my Uggs. I don’t know how Jake could hate Uggs, but he does. A lot. I can’t stop wearing them, though. They’re just too cozy and easy to slip on. Sorry, Jake!
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
