We had our last ‘'meal’ at our current home yesterday for breakfast. We have eaten up most of what was left in the pantry and fridge, so meals have been pretty random. Yesterday for breakfast I had toast with butter and jam and a slice of provolone cheese with turkey.
I can’t believe the weekend is over. It flew by, and now it’s time for us to move. Moving is such a bittersweet thing. I will share all about moving tomorrow, because I want today’s post to focus on my race recap!
Jake ended up not going to California. He has been battling some knee pain and wanted to make sure everything was good to go with our current house since we close on it Tuesday as well. He was bummed to miss his race, but I think it’ll be good to let his knee heal up.
Let’s rewind to Friday, then I’ll fill you in on my race. Had another delicious bowl of oats for breakfast.
I grabbed coffees on my way home after running yesterday. I love the honey latte with macadamia nut milk from Architect Coffee here in town. It’s amazing. I had never had macadamia nut milk before. YUM.
I think Lu is part cat. She loves to balance on the backs and arms of chairs.
We had a bunch of oatmeal and steel cut oats in our pantry, so that is what we are having for breakfast this week. I like to add an egg to mine - I just scramble a whole egg, add it to the water and oats (prepare everything like you normally would), then cook it all for about 2:30. Once it’s cooked, top the mixture with whatever deliciousness you’d like. Yesterday, mine was topped with chia seeds, flax seeds, peanut butter, and honey. Mmm. You can’t even tell there’s an egg cooked in there!
This weekend FLEW BY. It’s going to be race weekend/time to move before we know it!
We went through our attic, garage, and shop this weekend, so it felt good to get rid of/organize/donate a bunch of stuff. We also had fun torturing our fur children. This video cracks me up.
One of my girlfriends is OBSESSED with Rhea. Like, very, very obsessed. I get messages like this whenever I post about her. Ha!
Still just over here packing my life away. I packed our wine the other night, so that’s kind of scary. What do I drink?! ; )
Our breakfasts this week are sourdough toast, two eggs, sautéed spinach, cheese, and a slice of bacon. I think sourdough is my favorite bread of all time. Anyone else?
This weekend flew by! Between packing and racing, the days didn’t seem very long.
Friday morning started with some down time with the girls at home. Rhea made sure to gather all of her toys together.
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
