I am loving this short hair! It feels so light. I got up yesterday and started on some computer work. I was planning to run later in the day on the treadmill, so I worked and then had breakfast. I was hoping these oats wouldn't bother my stomach, but just to make sure, I ate 2 hours before I was going to run. No such luck. I had acid reflux about a mile into my run and then it lasted all day. I think it was the Greek yogurt in the oats or the PB2. Ugh. This is why I run so early in the day. I just can't seem to have anything on my stomach other than a piece of toast or a bagel with butter and honey.
I woke up yesterday at 4AM to meet Jyssica to run. Once I got up, I realized I still didn't feel all that great. I'm not sick (yet), but I want to do everything I can to try and keep from getting sick. I texted her and bailed on our run. It was going to be rainy and I just didn't think that would be good for me right now. I couldn't fall back to sleep, so I got started on my dissertation.
I personally want to hug whoever thought of overnight oats. They're my hero (the person, not the oats...well, I guess the oats are, too).
(As I was typing this, I realized I kept saying what Lu was thinking - does anyone else do that? I swear she's human, so I just know she has these thought processes. You can laugh at me if you want to, I get it! ; ) )
I got up early to work yesterday. Lu stayed in bed until Jake got up, then she didn't want to be alone while she slept. She came into the kitchen and tried to steal my chair.
We had a great weekend that FLEW by. I spent most of Friday on the couch when I got home from my run. I didn't have much of an appetite, but I made myself eat some of the overnight oats we had been having all week. I knew I needed some food in my system. I was worn out, so it was nice to come home and have them already made. After I ate, I took about an hour long nap, then started on dissertation work. I had a meeting in the afternoon, so I worked until it was time for that. I'm in crunch mode right now - a month until I defend - so things are hectic!
Lu sure was a sleepy girl yesterday. She's either going a hundred miles a minute or she's passed out.
I am loving this cooler weather we are having...I spent some time stretching on our front porch yesterday while I waited for Jake to get me to finish his run with him. Today is my off day from running, so I'll do some arms and abs later. I have 17 miles tomorrow (Friday), so I'm laying off the legs today. That will be my longest run EVER. I'm excited!!
I got out of bed yesterday to get coffee. When I walked back in to make the bed, I saw this. Someone was not ready to get up.
I haven't slept well this week. I hate when that happens. It's usually stress related, so I'm hoping once I get some things finished, I'll go back to sleeping better.
I got a new Bondi Band the other day, so I broke it in on my run Monday morning. I love the colors. These are definitely some of my favorite headbands. They fit SO well and the material wicks sweat.
One year ago TODAY, a lot of amazing things happened - Jake and John finished their hundred mile run and became Leadmen, and Jake proposed! That day was full of every emotion on the planet.
We had a wonderful, low-key weekend. Our next few get kind of crazy, then races start, and I graduate, so I have a feeling this fall and winter are going to FLY by.
We ran together Friday morning then had smoothies before Jake left for work. I finished up some edits and then made lunch. I had zoodles (zucchini noodles) and shrimp. It was SO good. I just cook my zoodles with butter or olive oil and add whatever seasoning sounds good - always garlic and sometimes that Primal Palate Seafood seasoning I'm always talking about. That's what I did on Friday!
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
