How is tomorrow 2019?! This year has FLOWN by. 2018, you have been SO good to me. This year I got to marry my best friend, defend my dissertation, finish my first marathon, and graduate with my PhD. Here’s to 2019, friends!
Knee update: my chiropractor thinks it’s my joint capsule flaring up. Sooo, it’s treatable! (Worst case scenario, it’s my meniscus. We are not going down that road yet!) Fingers crossed things continue to improve. I miss long runs!
When you wake up from a nap and don’t know where you are or what day it is...have you seen that meme? Lu makes me think of it A LOT.
I've been battling some knee pain for the past few weeks. I’m not sure what’s causing it, but I think it’s related to my ankle sprain last month. Maybe? It’s a weird pain, though, because it comes and goes. I’m seeing my chiropractor again today, so hopefully I can get some answers. I headed out for a run yesterday morning after having a waffle. The knee pain started after just half a mile last Saturday during my run, so I was anxious to see what would happen yesterday.
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I have SO much to be thankful for. I love celebrating Jesus' birthday with my favorite people.
Our Christmas celebrations started with some Elf watching on Sunday evening. “Bye, Buddy! Hope you find your Dad!”
This weekend was another crazy one, but that seems to be pretty typical this time of year. There is always something fun to do or someone to see. I cannot believe tonight is Christmas Eve!
Let's rewind...this little angel girl had a hard time getting up Friday morning...
I was pretty worn out yesterday from never falling asleep Tuesday night. I loved some of your suggestions for dealing with insomnia - get up and do something, drink something warm, make a list, drink Calm (I’m totally looking into this), take Melatonin (I do!), spritz lavender on your pillow. I also diffuse lavender oil sometimes. Not sure it helps me, but I love the smell. Lu and I were able to have a pretty lazy day, which was nice. We knocked out laundry and took care of a few things on my To-Do list.
I can’t get enough of this breakfast scramble lately. YUM.
For breakfast yesterday I made a massive veggie, egg, and sausage scramble. It was delicious.
My parents hosted the most fun graduation party Sunday afternoon. Here are some of the treats we had. Everything was so delicious and I loved getting to see all of my people.
Guys, I did it! Friday night was amazing. It’ll definitely be a night I never forget. Thank you for following along! You all are the best.
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
