I got out of bed yesterday to get coffee. When I walked back in to make the bed, I saw this. Someone was not ready to get up.
I haven't slept well this week. I hate when that happens. It's usually stress related, so I'm hoping once I get some things finished, I'll go back to sleeping better.
It was so nice yesterday morning. I left our back door open and Lu surveyed her kingdom. It had rained, so she didn't want to get her paws wet, but she still needed to be semi outside.
The jars I've been making our overnight oats in are huge. We share one of these containers each morning.
I knocked out some work yesterday - I have TWO chapters left to edit. I'm working on a table for my last chapter, just to help with some reorganizing before I send it to the head of my dissertation committee to read. It's taking me FOREVER.
Here's my timeline:
This week: send table of chapter 5 for feedback and work on edits for chapter 4
Next week: finish chapter 4 edits, reorganize and send chapter 5 for feedback
The next week: finish chapter 5 edits - I think this will be a lot of work, so I'm already mentally preparing.
The NEXT week: read through all 5 chapters, make any last minute changes, put together reference list, appendices (all that good stuff), complete MASSIVE dissertation submission packet - eye-roll, and SUBMIT.
BREATHE. BREATHE. BREATHE.
I needed a brain break after looking over that timeline, so I went into the garage to workout and BREATHE. I wore my Springfield FitLife tank - you can get them HERE. They have some other super cute stuff - I want the hoodie and a hat, for sure!
I love how this tank fits. It's loose, so I tie it in the front, but it's super comfy.
After I worked out, I threw together a bunch of leftovers for lunch - shrimp, salmon sausage, black beans, and butternut squash.
I had a tablespoon of PB for dessert.
I shared this picture yesterday from our wedding - the family that wears Garmins together, sticks together! My Dad did a prayer service for our ceremony in Colorado. It was SO perfect. We got married at the court house before we headed to CO, but the ceremony with our families was everything we both had hoped for - it was the best day.
Okay guys, I was going to ask for feedback, but I think I've already decided...I want to cut my hair! I'm just ready for a change and it's SO heavy. I have really thick hair and it's driving me crazy on my runs lately. Plus, it grows super fast, so it'll grow back if I don't like it.
I'm thinking something like this - not the color, although I love it. I used to color my hair a lot, but I've loved not having to keep up with that. I don't think I've colored it in almost 3 years! Tell me your thoughts on the cut! Yay or nay?
How is it possible that I forgot about hard boiled eggs? Did I ever tell you about the time I went to peel a hard boiled egg while I was working with a group of students when I taught middle school? I cracked it on my desk to get it started and it definitely was a raw egg. It made a huge mess and my kids thought it was hilarious. HA!
My grandparents from Florida are in town, so we went to my parents' house for dinner last night. We took Lu and my sister and her husband brought Ralph, their dog. Isn't he precious?
We had pizza and salad - I skipped the pizza and made a huge salad.
Lu is still obsessed with my Dad. She cries and cries until he pays attention to her. He's seriously her favorite person. It's not fair. When she stays with them and he goes to work, my Mom said she just sleeps under his clothes in their closet.
We watched some home videos - that's my grandparents on their wedding day!
Ralph and I got some cuddles in.
Lu just wanted to play fetch.
Poor sleepy guy...
People are against this...I hope you'll still like me when I cut it off!
Jake got up at 3:45 to start his 12 mile run for the day. He came back to our house halfway through to get me. I was ready! In all pink.
I wore my Paradigms, which I'm loving! I didn't like the first version on this shoe, but the new version is amazing. We LOVE Altra.
We got 6 miles together then stretched by all the things we are getting rid of, ha! We need to have a garage sale...
I'm off to be SO productive today!! It's happening. I want to get a ton finished. I have a girlfriend date tonight with Jyssica and Kayla - I cannot wait to see them!!! Things are so crazy right now and it's CRUNCH TIME with this dissertation. I can't wait to have more free time!
Happy Wednesday, friends!
I write about whatever is going on each day. I want to use this space as a place to document my dissertation and training journeys.
